The Problem

The Black Hills & Badlands Tourism Association’s website did not reflect the overwhelming beauty of the South Dakota region. They had beautiful photos, but no way to showcase them. The website wasn’t promoting BH&B’s wealth of year-round activities, like biking, hiking, canoeing and snowmobiling. BH&B’s website also wasn’t maximizing ad-based revenue.

Our Solution

Our solution featured large photos in rotating carousels throughout the site. A transparent navigation allowed more of the photos to be shown, captivating users with the natural beauty of the South Dakota landscape. Clearly labeled site sections provide easy access a host of visitor resources. Photos throughout the site convey the region’s beauty and variety of year-round activities. Revisions to the design also allowed banner ads to be placed tastefully alongside content.

The site performed extremely well for us this past year, over the summer and into the fall and winter. We noticed year over year increases in sessions, page views and member exposure. We have been super pleased to have worked with Chapter Three.
